This happened last night at the famous “club uno”  on Allen avenue, ikeja. Seyi Edun also known as Eja nla was already in the club with her friends as an after party of the one year ceremonial remembrance /concert of late nollywood matron, iyalode Bankole Adunni. Eyewitness said that lukman haruna barged in the club with his friends, disturbing the fun of other guests in the club. Lukman was seen splashing money in the air. Fun got worse for him when he splashed money on Seyi Edun’s “upper body” (chest)  as Seyi blasted him immediately and threw the money back at him. It is obvious that Seyi Edun and lukman haruna had never met each other before.
Seyi’s reaction shocked everyone including lukman particularly as he(lukman)  and his friends made a fruitful attempt to show remorse and appeal for splashing money in a disrespectful manner.

THE CHIEF OF ARMY FORCES PRESIDENT BUHARI TO OFFER FREE EDUCATION TO SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

The Federal Government is developing a cash transfer programme which will include the provision of free education for science, technology and education students in tertiary institutions, President Muhammadu Buhari has said. The president announced the plan, aimed at addressing the needs of the poor and vulnerable in the society in his 2016 Budget Speech at the National Assembly on Tuesday.

He said, “through the Office of the Vice-President, we are working with various development partners to design an implementable and transparent conditional cash transfer programme for the poorest and most vulnerable. “This programme will be implemented in phases. Already, the compilation of registers of the poorest persons is on-going.

“In the coming weeks, we will present the full programme, which will include our home-grown public primary school feeding and free education for science, technology and education students in our tertiary institutions. “Indeed, this will mark a historic milestone for us as a nation.’’ The president also said the Federal Government would collaborate with states and local governments to tackle the “chronic shortage’’ of teachers in public schools across the country.

He said that under the partnership, government planned to recruit, train and deploy 500,000 unemployed graduates and NCE holders to strengthen basic education, especially in rural areas. Buhari also said his administration would partner states and local governments to provide financial training and loans for market women, traders and artisans through cooperative societies.

“We believe that this segment of our society is not only critical to our plan for growing small businesses, but it is also an important platform to create jobs and provide opportunities for entrepreneurs,’’ he said. The president said that the budget proposal of N6.08 trillion was aimed at reviving the economy, delivering inclusive growth to Nigerians and creating a significant number of jobs.

We aim to ensure macroeconomic stability by achieving a real GDP growth rate of 4.37 per cent and managing inflation. “To achieve this, we will ensure the aligning of fiscal, monetary, trade and industrial policies,’’ he added. He reiterated the determination of his government to tackle the current rate of unemployment and underemployment among the populace, adding that the budget was a platform to put more Nigerians to work.

“I can assure you that this administration will have a job creation focus in every aspect of the execution of this budget. “Nigeria’s job creation drive will be private sector led. We will encourage this by a reduction in tax rates for smaller businesses as well as subsidised funding for priority sectors such as agriculture and solid minerals.’’

I committed no crime in kneeling before God in church – Ooni of Ife replies critics

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (OjajaII) has replied those attacking him for kneeling in church to worship God.

The monarch said “no King on Earth is above God”.

He was responding to the negative comments, which trailed a picture showing him kneeling down during the installation thanksgiving held at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Ile Ife, on Sunday.

The picture, which had gone viral on internet, attracted diverse comments.

While many saw no wrong in the action of the newly installed monarch, some were of the view that the act desecrated the revered stool of Ooni.

But in a statement signed by the Director of Communication and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Ile-Ife, Moses Olafare, the Ooni said it was an unacceptable sacrilege to equate Ooni’risa or any other king to the Almighty God.

His words: “God is the creator of mankind and it is God that makes it possible for the enthronement of any king.

“The ILE OODUA has been drawn to a publication released Wednesday 16th 2015 by an online medium known as NEWSPUNCH in which His Imperial Majesty, Ooni’risa & Arole Oodua Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (OjajaII) was criticized for bowing to God.

“God remains the highest KING OF KINGS who has kept all Kings alive and had made it possible for me to bbe crowned as the King of the source of Yoruba civilisation.

“I have no regret whatsoever for kneeling down to exalt the almighty God who did not only create me but also kept me alive, saw me through all the storms in my life-journey and eventually crowned me as the Custodian of Oodua Race.

“This act of equating me to God of gods, King of kings and the sole owner of the universe is a wicked sacrilege planned to embarrass the throne.

“My emergence as Oba has been made possible only by the almighty Olodumare to whom I remain eternally grateful”, the Ooni said.

BREAKING: Naira crashes to 280 against dollar

The naira continued its freefall on Thursday, crashing to 280 against the dollar at the parallel market.

The naira, which was trading at between 241 and 243 against the greenback about three weeks ago, began a steady fall after the Central Bank of Nigeria stopped sale of foreign exchange to a number of Bureaux De Change Operators due to improper documentation.

Analysts said the development would lead to inflation and affect the profitability of businesses.

Ramsey Noah said My Jouney to success was rough..

Nollywood actor, Ramsey Noah, has spoken on his experiences growing up, including having to live under bridges and beg for food in Lagos. The actor who can now be classified as veteran, has had very bad experiences before he got to stardom, experiences that were painful and distressing, making sure that he has now tasted two sides of the coin.

The Nollywood ‘lover boy’ said his journey to stardom proves that there is no shortcut to success but through hard work and determination and a chat with Stargist, the handsome actor recalled how he once lived under the bridge while growing up with his mother. “I lived on the streets and in a store which could accommodate a mat with my mother. My mother and I squeezed ourselves in that mat.

“Those were the times when things got really bad for my mother and I and we had nothing. It was so bad that we didn’t have a home to live in. We didn’t even have a cup to drink water, talk more of a stove to cook on. My mother had to borrow, beg and stuff like that.

“Those moments, those terrible moments we had nothing and we were living off people. People were just helping us out. There were times we didn’t have food to eat three or four days. You haven’t eaten and your stomach is rumbling but you don’t have any place to go.

“It was unfortunate that there were no records so that we can have memories we could play back now. To me, I am so extremely grateful that I went through it. At that time, I hated everybody around me. In fact, I used to question why God was doing this to me. But I think God knew that I needed this for my future".

The father of two added:

“These were moments when I was young. I didn’t realise the gravity of poverty we were in” There have been far more appalling success stories but it never makes the experience any easier to forget, but makes one appreciate the present even more.

The children of a celebrated artiste in Akwa Ibom known as Artist Ite buried him in an amazing casket. According to our reliable source, who came to witness the burial was able to share this testimony of the pass on Artist.

He said ; Today I was at the Burial ceremony of one of the greatest artists to come out of the south south to pay my last respect. Indeed he left a big shoe to be filled. A great artist and sculpture.
